Gisteren ben ik teruggekomen van drie weken lesgeven in NYC en upstate NY. Ik heb een jetlag en ben moe, maar kijk met veel plezier terug op heerlijke weken met fijne cursisten.
Bij deze een overzicht van de zomercursussen en retraites in Amsterdam (volgend weekend al - nog enkele plekken vrij) en Veluwe!
Of course, it is also good to do any of the other meritorious activities often advised by Lama Zopa Rinpoche on these great holy days.1

Groene Tara is de bekendste vrouwelijke Boeddha, en in deze thangkacursus leer je haar te tekenen (en kun je er later evt schilderen) volgens de Tibetaans Boeddhistische traditie van thangka.
Tara is een van de meest vereerde Boeddha’s en is de belichaming van actief mededogen. Zij reikt haar hand uit -als een moeder tot haar kind- om wensen te vervullen en staat, met haar rechtervoet uitgestrekt, klaar om te helpen waar nodig. Door haar te tekenen/ schilderen, haar meditatie te beoefenen en haar mantra te reciteren kun je contact met haar maken. Er zijn dan ook vele verhalen van mensen die werden gered uit moeilijke omstandigheden terwijl ze haar mantra reciteerden of Tara’s naam aanriepen.
Groene Tara wordt ook gezien als een van de eerste geëmancipeerde vrouwen. Toen andere -mannelijke- beoefenaars haar opdroegen slechts te bidden voor een volgende incarnatie in een mannelijk lichaam omdat dat de enige manier zou zijn om de verlichting (de hoogste staat van bewustzijn) te verkrijgen, nam Tara de volgende, standvastige gelofte: ‘Totdat Samsara leeg zal zijn, zal ik werken ten bate van alle voelende wezens, maar áltijd in een vrouwelijk lichaam!’

Tijdens deze weekendcursus leer je De Boeddha te tekenen volgens de oude Tibetaanse traditie van thangka (rolschilderingen).
De officiële naam van De Boeddha is ‘Boeddha Shakyamuni’, en het Boeddhisme zoals wij dat in huidige vorm kennen is op zijn leringen gestoeld.
Naast de tekensessies kom je tijdens deze cursus ook via korte meditaties, dialezingen en uitleg van de mantra van de Boeddha meer te weten over zijn achtergrond en symboliek. Dit geeft het tekenen van je Boeddha zoveel meer diepte.

Carmen's online cursussen worden gegeven via haar School for Tibetan Buddhist Art. De cursussen worden gegeven in helder Engels, en het grootste gedeelte van elke cursus (zoals de video's) kan worden vertaald/ondertiteld naar het Nederlands.

Unfortunately we will have to postpone it, as I've come to the conclusion that, with all the different parts in organizing in Nepal that is involved, much more time is needed before I can open registrations. And this affects you, because you also need enough time to make your plans, take time off work and book flights.
I'm really sorry that this tour does not work out in 2026, but I hope to offer it in 2027 (in the same period).
And if all this goes well, you'll be the first to know!
